Karthik Athreya

Head- Fund Strategy (Private Credit), Sundaram Alternates

Mr. Karthik Athreya is a Director on the Board of Sundaram Alternates and the Head of Strategy for Alternative Credit. He is a financial services professional with over 25 years of experience across principal investing, funds management, investment banking, corporate finance, assurance, and transaction diligence services. He oversees Sundaram Alternates’ private credit team which manages assets of over USD 300 million.

Prior to Sundaram, Karthik led the India business of Clearwater Capital Partners, a pan Asian special situations fund and oversaw over a billion dollars of investment in India across secured lending, offshore private credit, deep restructurings, private equity, and real estate investing.

Karthik has been instrumental in the set up and build out of several new businesses in his earlier roles at YES Bank, Arthur Andersen and Rabobank's India operations.  

Karthik is a Chartered Accountant and graduated from the prestigious Loyola College, Chennai. He is also a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
